Laulupidu

This past weekend i was involved in a incredible event called Laulupidu. It is the big singing festival that occurs every 5 years and to put it simply it was breathtaking. I had no idea that it was going to be so enormous. There were over 100,000 people in the audience and on the stage at peak there were over 20,000 choir singers. Getting to be on the stage singing with everyone was overwhelming for me being as it is my last week in Estonia. At the end of the festival i cried because this past year has been incredible and i was reminded of all the great times ive had. I am so happy to have been able to participate in this event. This is probably going to be my last post while in Estonia so i’d like to thank everyone who has helped me along my exchange and i couldnt have had a better year. I’d like to thank Rotary for sponsoring me and my family for supporting me.

Wonderful to read of your exceptional times while on exchange. Reading your blogs just reaffirms for us at T/C Rotary what a wonderful program our Student Exchange Program is. When I read blogs/reports like yours I think back to when a Rotary International president addressed the Grand Rapids conference and said: “If every young person in the world could experience a year of Rotary Youth Exchange, there would be NO more conflict in the world”.
You have done our club and your family proud, I’m sure, while representing us in Estonia for this past year. Thanks for being such a great ambassador.

If there was a note from you we always looked at it first thing to see what new amazing things were going on in your life! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us. We felt like we were on an adventure ourselves each time we read about your experiences and we look forward to hearing more in August! You will treasure this year for the rest of your life and be able to encourage others with this gift you have been given. Parting with those you have come to know will definitely be sad but all the more sweet when you return someday to visit. Safe travels……
